Today Dex and I are dressing organically. I've picked out an organic t-shirt for him and bamboo pants for me. Very green! And they're not as stiff as you'd think bamboo pants would be. Maybe they just use bamboo fibers.

Uh, Izz? This shirt looks like all my other shirts, except for the new shirt smell. What's the difference?

I thought you'd never ask! Your shirt is made from organic cotton. It looks like regular cotton, but it's much better for the environment. The difference is in the way it is farmed. Two words: fewer pesticides! Some farmers spray cotton plants with chemicals to keep the bugs away. But the bugs can become like super-bugs as they can get used to the pesticides. Then farmers have to spray more and more to kill them.

Sounds like science fiction! But we don't eat the cotton, so who cares? Or maybe I should eat it, and become Super Dex!

I'll ignore that. We can do our part to be gentler on the environment by helping the farmers who grow organic cotton. Which is what I did by buying you that organic t-shirt! Check out this page about organic cotton farming.
